About The 273HD Wood Baseball Bat:
The 273HD wood baseball bat is modeled after a bat done for Robinson Cano some years ago. While having a similarly long barrel, the barrel diameter of this wooden bat has been modified slightly. This tweak allows the 273HD to become part of the HD series for extra durability and strength. But don't worry, this baby is still a power hitter's bat, with the weight out in the barrel to crush the ball.
A standard diameter handle on the 273HD proceeds fairly straight in to a knob of moderate width. This gives the bottom hand a place to rest when gripping the bat.
Our HD line of bats are made from the same high quality maple and birch wood as our other standard and pro models. To make them, we pull the billets (tubes of wood from which we craft our bats) that, due to weight, make great wood bats, but only in a limited number of models that have slightly smaller diameter barrels. The tweaked barrel is offset by the wood being denser. Denser wood = a stronger bat and more energy transferred to the ball.
