About The AP5HD Wood Baseball Bat:

Like its big brother, the AP5 Pro Model wood baseball bat, the AP5HD is a well balanced power hitter's bat. It features the same flared knob and handle diameter (just under 1") and the long barrel that players love in the AP5 model. The only difference is the AP5 HD barrel diameter is just a tad smaller to enable us to add some additional durability to this model.

All HD wooden bat models are crafted from the same high quality maple and birch woods as our other standard and pro wood bat models. To gain extra durability without sacrificing pop, the tweaked barrel is offset by the wood being denser (ie. harder). Denser wood = a stronger bat and more energy transferred to the ball. Goodbye, Mr. Baseball...hello, home run trot!  Drive it over the wall with the AP5HD wood baseball bat.

  • 3, 4, 5-hole hitter in the line-up
  • Power hitter wants more balance in his bat
  • Likes AP5 but wants extra durability so gives up some barrel

    Phoenix bats have been my gamers since I first swung them at the MSBL world series in 2006. Broke my last one after a couple of seasons hitting gapers because I am a terrible hitter. This one was fast shipped before my next game! Always balanced and offers great pop when you barrel it up. Only wish I could have customized the barrel and not just the handle, but that is nit picking. I am a Phoenix lifer!

    This is the best bat I’ve ever used, hands down. It is easy to swing, and I’m consistently hitting deep line drives with increased velocity. Love it!

    The difference in barrel diameter is not noticeable. The bat is a hammer with a nice size sweet spot for wood. My son also has a white LS Prime. Exit velo was low 90-93 with both bats in the same session.

    Excellent bat! Flared handle feels great and gives you superb bat control. Balls fly off the barrel. Highly recommend this bat and this bat company.

    Great feel as soon as you pick it up. Swings easy, and consistently feels solid with pop. Nothing like the feel of quality lumber.

    I bought this bat for my nephew to use during batting practice. He is a sophomore and loves how the bat is balanced.

    This is a phenomenal bat. Swings itself. Perfectly balanced with slight end load. After they spin it down for weight it is actually shaped a lot like a JC24 but with waaay more momentum and Pop. I like it better than a traditional AP5. I was a Victus guy, but for now I am moving to PHOENIX,. . Get it, you won't regret it.
