Description

About the Coach's Fungo:

Same design as the Pro wood fungo, but with a flared handle end. Very comfortable in the hand while still providing a good grip. Great for hitting grounders and pop-flys during practice.

The Coach's Fungo has become the popular choice of coaches due to the repetitive nature of hitting balls when using a fungo. With the lack of a defined knob on the end of the handle, the palm and side of your hand endure less friction. The most popular size choice? 34" (but available from 32" to 36").

All Phoenix Bats fungos are made from birch wood to ensure extra durability and optimal weight. This is one you should have for a long time!

Typical user:

  • Coach for hitting fly balls grounders
  • Prefers flared knob for comfort against side of bottom hand due to repetitious nature of hitting balls

    One of my favorite things as a coach / Dad is hitting fungo. When you want to do it right you need a Phoenix Fungo!! Love the colors I got and bat.

    I am really impressed with the quality of this bat. The wood seems to be very durable - very solid and it hits well. I like the tapered grip and the bat looks great. I’m very satisfied with this purchase and I highly recommend Phoenix bats.

    We've ordered 4 of these as Coach's gifts over the past few years and all have been fantastic. One is a wall display but the other 4 get used frequently in practice. Great balance and and custom colors have all looked great. We just ordered another one as an end of year gift for a coach this season.
    I've ordered about 10 bats from Phoenix over the past several years and every one has been fantastic, both training bats (fungos, one handed) and game bats for wood bat tourneys. Wood for every one has been top notch, straight grain and no knots. A Phoenix game bat died in service hitting a single off the handle last weekend and the kid was very sad to see it go. I frequently recommend Phoenix to parents looking for wood bats.

    So I've hit plenty of bats and I've finally pulled the trigger on getting my own. Outstanding feel, craftsmanship, and I felt the price was fantastic. The birch wood is a nice balance between Maple and Ash. Great feel, sound and pop. The flared end is a lifesaver and feels great for high reps without fatigue. With all the customization options and personalization available, the only mistake you can make is not purchasing from Phoenix.
