Comparing Lou Gehrig bat versus babe Ruth bat

Published by Indy on Friday May 17th 2024 05:12:18 AM

I have used the Babe Ruth model in official league games for several years now. I like the balance and the power, but it has a minor weakness for me- it's hard to get around for high, inside pitches. So I bought the Lou Gehrig model, which is the same length, but a few ounces lighter. Problem solved! I get around quicker on those highballs, and I still have the reach for outside pitches. It doesn't quite have the oomph of the Ruth, though, and since I'm not yet used to the slightly smaller barrel (and slightly faster swing) I've been hitting a few more popups than usual, but that's easily fixable. The Gehrig is a very good compliment for my bat arsenal for use depending who's pitching. I love these bats.
